Josué 10
1 Tendo Adoni-Zedeque, rei de Jerusalém, ouvido que Josué tomara a Ai e a havia destruído totalmente e feito a Ai e ao seu rei como fizera a Jericó e ao seu rei e que os moradores de Gibeão fizeram paz com os israelitas e estavam no meio deles,
2 temeu muito; porque Gibeão era cidade grande como uma das cidades reais e ainda maior do que Ai, e todos os seus homens eram valentes.
3 Pelo que Adoni-Zedeque, rei de Jerusalém, enviou mensageiros a Hoão, rei de Hebrom, e a Pirã, rei de Jarmute, e a Jafia, rei de Laquis, e a Debir, rei de Eglom, dizendo:
4 Subi a mim e ajudai-me; firamos Gibeão, porquanto fez paz com Josué e com os filhos de Israel.
5 Então, se ajuntaram e subiram cinco reis dos amorreus, o rei de Jerusalém, o rei de Hebrom, o rei de Jarmute, o rei de Laquis e o rei de Eglom, eles e todas as suas tropas; e se acamparam junto a Gibeão e pelejaram contra ela.
6 Os homens de Gibeão mandaram dizer a Josué, no arraial de Gilgal: Não retires as tuas mãos de teus servos; sobe apressadamente a nós, e livra-nos, e ajuda-nos, pois todos os reis dos amorreus que habitam nas montanhas se ajuntaram contra nós.
7 Então, subiu Josué de Gilgal, ele e toda a gente de guerra com ele e todos os valentes.
8 Disse o SENHOR a Josué: Não os temas, porque nas tuas mãos os entreguei; nenhum deles te poderá resistir.
9 Josué lhes sobreveio de repente, porque toda a noite veio subindo desde Gilgal.
10 O SENHOR os conturbou diante de Israel, e os feriu com grande matança em Gibeão, e os foi perseguindo pelo caminho que sobe a Bete-Horom, e os derrotou até Azeca e Maquedá.
11 Sucedeu que, fugindo eles de diante de Israel, à descida de Bete-Horom, fez o SENHOR cair do céu sobre eles grandes pedras, até Azeca, e morreram. Mais foram os que morreram pela chuva de pedra do que os mortos à espada pelos filhos de Israel.
12 Então, Josué falou ao SENHOR, no dia em que o SENHOR entregou os amorreus nas mãos dos filhos de Israel; e disse na presença dos israelitas: Sol, detém-te em Gibeão, e tu, lua, no vale de Aijalom.
13 E o sol se deteve, e a lua parou até que o povo se vingou de seus inimigos. Não está isto escrito no Livro dos Justos? O sol, pois, se deteve no meio do céu e não se apressou a pôr-se, quase um dia inteiro.
14 Não houve dia semelhante a este, nem antes nem depois dele, tendo o SENHOR, assim, atendido à voz de um homem; porque o SENHOR pelejava por Israel.
15 Voltou Josué, e todo o Israel com ele, ao arraial, a Gilgal.
16 Aqueles cinco reis, porém, fugiram e se esconderam numa cova em Maquedá.
17 E anunciaram a Josué: Foram achados os cinco reis escondidos numa cova em Maquedá.
18 Disse, pois, Josué: Rolai grandes pedras à boca da cova e ponde junto a ela homens que os guardem; porém vós não vos detenhais;
19 persegui os vossos inimigos e matai os que vão ficando atrás; não os deixeis entrar nas suas cidades, porque o SENHOR, vosso Deus, já vo-los entregou nas vossas mãos.
20 Tendo Josué e os filhos de Israel acabado de os ferir com mui grande matança, até consumi-los, e tendo os restantes que deles ficaram entrado nas cidades fortificadas,
21 voltou todo o povo em paz ao acampamento a Josué, em Maquedá; não havendo ninguém que movesse a língua contra os filhos de Israel.
22 Depois, disse Josué: Abri a boca da cova e dali trazei-me aqueles cinco reis.
23 Fizeram, pois, assim e da cova lhe trouxeram os cinco reis: o rei de Jerusalém, o de Hebrom, o de Jarmute, o de Laquis e o de Eglom.
24 Trazidos os reis a Josué, chamou este todos os homens de Israel e disse aos capitães do exército que tinham ido com ele: Chegai, ponde o pé sobre o pescoço destes reis. E chegaram e puseram os pés sobre os pescoços deles.
25 Então, Josué lhes disse: Não temais, nem vos atemorizeis; sede fortes e corajosos, porque assim fará o SENHOR a todos os vossos inimigos, contra os quais pelejardes.
26 Depois disto, Josué, ferindo-os, os matou e os pendurou em cinco madeiros; e ficaram eles pendentes dos madeiros até à tarde.
27 Ao pôr-do-sol, deu Josué ordem que os tirassem dos madeiros; e lançaram-nos na cova onde se tinham escondido e, na boca da cova, puseram grandes pedras que ainda lá se encontram até ao dia de hoje.
28 No mesmo dia, tomou Josué a Maquedá e a feriu à espada, bem como ao seu rei; destruiu-os totalmente e a todos os que nela estavam, sem deixar nem sequer um. Fez ao rei de Maquedá como fizera ao rei de Jericó.
29 Então, Josué, e todo o Israel com ele, passou de Maquedá a Libna e pelejou contra ela.
30 E o SENHOR a deu nas mãos de Israel, a ela e ao seu rei, e a feriu à espada, a ela e todos os que nela estavam, sem deixar nem sequer um. Fez ao seu rei como fizera ao rei de Jericó.
31 Então, Josué, e todo o Israel com ele, passou de Libna a Laquis, sitiou-a e pelejou contra ela;
32 e o SENHOR deu Laquis nas mãos de Israel, que, no dia seguinte, a tomou e a feriu à espada, a ela e todos os que nela estavam, conforme tudo o que fizera a Libna.
33 Então, Hoão, rei de Gezer, subiu para ajudar Laquis; porém Josué o feriu, a ele e o seu povo, sem deixar nem sequer um.
34 E Josué, e todo o Israel com ele, passou de Laquis a Eglom, e a sitiaram e pelejaram contra ela;
35 e, no mesmo dia, a tomaram e a feriram à espada; e totalmente destruíram os que nela estavam, conforme tudo o que fizeram a Laquis.
36 Depois, Josué, e todo o Israel com ele, subiu de Eglom a Hebrom, e pelejaram contra ela;
37 e a tomaram e a feriram à espada, tanto o seu rei como todas as suas cidades e todos os que nelas estavam, sem deixar nem sequer um, conforme tudo o que fizeram a Eglom; e Josué executou a condenação contra ela e contra todos os que nela estavam.
38 Então, Josué, e todo o Israel com ele, voltou a Debir e pelejou contra ela;
39 e tomou-a com o seu rei e todas as suas cidades e as feriu à espada; todos os que nelas estavam, destruiu-os totalmente sem deixar nem sequer um; como fizera a Hebrom, a Libna e a seu rei, também fez a Debir e a seu rei.
40 Assim, feriu Josué toda aquela terra, a região montanhosa, o Neguebe, as campinas, as descidas das águas e todos os seus reis; destruiu tudo o que tinha fôlego, sem deixar nem sequer um, como ordenara o SENHOR, Deus de Israel.
41 Feriu-os Josué desde Cades-Barnéia até Gaza, como também toda a terra de Gósen até Gibeão.
42 E, de uma vez, tomou Josué todos estes reis e as suas terras, porquanto o SENHOR, Deus de Israel, pelejava por Israel.
43 Então, Josué, e todo o Israel com ele, voltou ao arraial em Gilgal.
10 Now it came to pass, when Adonizedec king of Jerusalem had heard how Joshua had taken Ai, and had utterly destroyed it; as he had done to Jericho and her king, so he had done to Ai and her king; and how the inhabitants of Gibeon had made peace with Israel, and were among them; 2 That they feared greatly, because Gibeon was a great city, as one of the royal cities, and because it was greater than Ai, and all the men thereof were mighty. 3 Wherefore Adonizedec king of Jerusalem, sent unto Hoham king of Hebron, and unto Piram king of Jarmuth, and unto Japhia king of Lachish, and unto Debir king of Eglon, saying, 4 Come up unto me, and help me, that we may smite Gibeon: for it hath made peace with Joshua and with the children of Israel. 5 Therefore the five kings of the Amorites, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, the king of Eglon, gathered themselves together, and went up, they and all their hosts, and encamped before Gibeon, and made war against it. 6 And the men of Gibeon sent unto Joshua to the camp to Gilgal, saying, Slack not thy hand from thy servants; come up to us quickly, and save us, and help us: for all the kings of the Amorites that dwell in the mountains are gathered together against us. 7 So Joshua ascended from Gilgal, he, and all the people of war with him, and all the mighty men of valour. 8 And the Lord said unto Joshua, Fear them not: for I have delivered them into thine hand; there shall not a man of them stand before thee. 9 Joshua therefore came unto them suddenly, and went up from Gilgal all night. 10 And the Lord discomfited them before Israel, and slew them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, and chased them along the way that goeth up to Bethhoron, and smote them to Azekah, and unto Makkedah. 11 And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, and were in the going down to Bethhoron, that the Lord cast down great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more which died with hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword. 12 Then spake Joshua to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon. 13 And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day. 14 And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the Lord hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the Lord fought for Israel. 15 And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, unto the camp to Gilgal. 16 But these five kings fled, and hid themselves in a cave at Makkedah. 17 And it was told Joshua, saying, The five kings are found hid in a cave at Makkedah. 18 And Joshua said, Roll great stones upon the mouth of the cave, and set men by it for to keep them: 19 And stay ye not, but pursue after your enemies, and smite the hindmost of them; suffer them not to enter into their cities: for the Lord your God hath delivered them into your hand. 20 And it came to pass, when Joshua and the children of Israel had made an end of slaying them with a very great slaughter, till they were consumed, that the rest which remained of them entered into fenced cities. 21 And all the people returned to the camp to Joshua at Makkedah in peace: none moved his tongue against any of the children of Israel. 22 Then said Joshua, Open the mouth of the cave, and bring out those five kings unto me out of the cave. 23 And they did so, and brought forth those five kings unto him out of the cave, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, and the king of Eglon. 24 And it came to pass, when they brought out those kings unto Joshua, that Joshua called for all the men of Israel, and said unto the captains of the men of war which went with him, Come near, put your feet upon the necks of these kings. And they came near, and put their feet upon the necks of them. 25 And Joshua said unto them, Fear not, nor be dismayed, be strong and of good courage: for thus shall the Lord do to all your enemies against whom ye fight. 26 And afterward Joshua smote them, and slew them, and hanged them on five trees: and they were hanging upon the trees until the evening. 27 And it came to pass at the time of the going down of the sun, that Joshua commanded, and they took them down off the trees, and cast them into the cave wherein they had been hid, and laid great stones in the cave's mouth, which remain until this very day. 28 And that day Joshua took Makkedah, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof he utterly destroyed, them, and all the souls that were therein; he let none remain: and he did to the king of Makkedah as he did unto the king of Jericho. 29 Then Joshua passed from Makkedah, and all Israel with him, unto Libnah, and fought against Libnah: 30 And the Lord delivered it also, and the king thereof, into the hand of Israel; and he smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein; he let none remain in it; but did unto the king thereof as he did unto the king of Jericho. 31 And Joshua passed from Libnah, and all Israel with him, unto Lachish, and encamped against it, and fought against it: 32 And the Lord delivered Lachish into the hand of Israel, which took it on the second day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein, according to all that he had done to Libnah. 33 Then Horam king of Gezer came up to help Lachish; and Joshua smote him and his people, until he had left him none remaining. 34 And from Lachish Joshua passed unto Eglon, and all Israel with him; and they encamped against it, and fought against it: 35 And they took it on that day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls that were therein he utterly destroyed that day, according to all that he had done to Lachish. 36 And Joshua went up from Eglon, and all Israel with him, unto Hebron; and they fought against it: 37 And they took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof, and all the cities thereof, and all the souls that were therein; he left none remaining, according to all that he had done to Eglon; but destroyed it utterly, and all the souls that were therein. 38 And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, to Debir; and fought against it: 39 And he took it, and the king thereof, and all the cities thereof; and they smote them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed all the souls that were therein; he left none remaining: as he had done to Hebron, so he did to Debir, and to the king thereof; as he had done also to Libnah, and to her king. 40 So Joshua smote all the country of the hills, and of the south, and of the vale, and of the springs, and all their kings: he left none remaining, but utterly destroyed all that breathed, as the Lord God of Israel commanded. 41 And Joshua smote them from Kadeshbarnea even unto Gaza, and all the country of Goshen, even unto Gibeon. 42 And all these kings and their land did Joshua take at one time, because the Lord God of Israel fought for Israel. 43 And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, unto the camp to Gilgal

Salmos 142
1 Ao SENHOR ergo a minha voz e clamo, com a minha voz suplico ao SENHOR.
2 Derramo perante ele a minha queixa, à sua presença exponho a minha tribulação.
3 Quando dentro de mim me esmorece o espírito, conheces a minha vereda. No caminho em que ando, me ocultam armadilha.
4 Olha à minha direita e vê, pois não há quem me reconheça, nenhum lugar de refúgio, ninguém que por mim se interesse.
5 A ti clamo, SENHOR, e digo: tu és o meu refúgio, o meu quinhão na terra dos viventes.
6 Atende o meu clamor, pois me vejo muito fraco. Livra-me dos meus perseguidores, porque são mais fortes do que eu.
7 Tira a minha alma do cárcere, para que eu dê graças ao teu nome; os justos me rodearão, quando me fizeres esse bem.
142 I cried unto the Lord with my voice; with my voice unto the Lord did I make my supplication.
2 I poured out my complaint before him; I shewed before him my trouble. 3 When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then thou knewest my path. In the way wherein I walked have they privily laid a snare for me. 4 I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul. 5 I cried unto thee, O Lord: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living. 6 Attend unto my cry; for I am brought very low: deliver me from my persecutors; for they are stronger than I. 7 Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise thy name: the righteous shall compass me about; for thou shalt deal bountifully with me.

1 Atende, SENHOR, a minha oração, dá ouvidos às minhas súplicas. Responde-me, segundo a tua fidelidade, segundo a tua justiça.
2 Não entres em juízo com o teu servo, porque à tua vista não há justo nenhum vivente.
3 Pois o inimigo me tem perseguido a alma; tem arrojado por terra a minha vida; tem-me feito habitar na escuridão, como aqueles que morreram há muito.
4 Por isso, dentro de mim esmorece o meu espírito, e o coração se vê turbado.
5 Lembro-me dos dias de outrora, penso em todos os teus feitos e considero nas obras das tuas mãos.
6 A ti levanto as mãos; a minha alma anseia por ti, como terra sedenta.
7 Dá-te pressa, SENHOR, em responder-me; o espírito me desfalece; não me escondas a tua face, para que eu não me torne como os que baixam à cova.
8 Faze-me ouvir, pela manhã, da tua graça, pois em ti confio; mostra-me o caminho por onde devo andar, porque a ti elevo a minha alma.
9 Livra-me, SENHOR, dos meus inimigos; pois em ti é que me refugio.
10 Ensina-me a fazer a tua vontade, pois tu és o meu Deus; guie-me o teu bom Espírito por terreno plano.
11 Vivifica-me, SENHOR, por amor do teu nome; por amor da tua justiça, tira da tribulação a minha alma.
12 E, por tua misericórdia, dá cabo dos meus inimigos e destrói todos os que me atribulam a alma, pois eu sou teu servo.
143 Hear my prayer, O Lord, give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness.
2 And enter not into judgment with thy servant: for in thy sight shall no man living be justified.
3 For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; he hath smitten my life down to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead.
4 Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is desolate.
5 I remember the days of old; I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands.
6 I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah.
7 Hear me speedily, O Lord: my spirit faileth: hide not thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit.
8 Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.
9 Deliver me, O Lord, from mine enemies: I flee unto thee to hide me.
10 Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.
11 Quicken me, O Lord, for thy name's sake: for thy righteousness' sake bring my soul out of trouble.
12 And of thy mercy cut off mine enemies, and destroy all them that afflict my soul: for I am thy servant.

Jeremias 4
1 Se voltares, ó Israel, diz o SENHOR, volta para mim; se removeres as tuas abominações de diante de mim, não mais andarás vagueando;
2 se jurares pela vida do SENHOR, em verdade, em juízo e em justiça, então, nele serão benditas as nações e nele se glorificarão.
3 Porque assim diz o SENHOR aos homens de Judá e Jerusalém: Lavrai para vós outros campo novo e não semeeis entre espinhos.
4 Circuncidai-vos para o SENHOR, circuncidai o vosso coração, ó homens de Judá e moradores de Jerusalém, para que o meu furor não saia como fogo e arda, e não haja quem o apague, por causa da malícia das vossas obras.
5 Anunciai em Judá, fazei ouvir em Jerusalém e dizei: Tocai a trombeta na terra! Gritai em alta voz, dizendo: Ajuntai-vos, e entremos nas cidades fortificadas!
6 Arvorai a bandeira rumo a Sião, fugi e não vos detenhais; porque eu faço vir do Norte um mal, uma grande destruição.
7 Já um leão subiu da sua ramada, um destruidor das nações; ele já partiu, já deixou o seu lugar para fazer da tua terra uma desolação, a fim de que as tuas cidades sejam destruídas, e ninguém as habite.
8 Cingi-vos, pois, de cilício, lamentai e uivai; porque a ira ardente do SENHOR não se desviou de nós.
9 Sucederá naquele dia, diz o SENHOR, que o rei e os príncipes perderão a coragem, os sacerdotes ficarão pasmados, e os profetas, estupefatos.
10 Então, disse eu: Ah! SENHOR Deus! Verdadeiramente, enganaste a este povo e a Jerusalém, dizendo: Tereis paz; e eis que a espada lhe penetra até à alma.
11 Naquele tempo, se dirá a este povo e a Jerusalém: Vento abrasador dos altos desnudos do ermo assopra diretamente à filha do meu povo, não para padejar nem para alimpar.
12 Vento mais forte do que este virá ainda de minha parte, e, então, também eu pronunciarei a sentença contra eles.
13 Eis aí que sobe o destruidor como nuvens; os seus carros, como tempestade; os seus cavalos são mais ligeiros do que as águias. Ai de nós! Estamos arruinados!
14 Lava o teu coração da malícia, ó Jerusalém, para que sejas salva! Até quando hospedarás contigo os teus maus pensamentos?
15 Uma voz se faz ouvir desde Dã e anuncia a calamidade desde a região montanhosa de Efraim!
16 Proclamai isto às nações, fazei-o ouvir contra Jerusalém: De uma terra longínqua vêm sitiadores e levantam a voz contra as cidades de Judá.
17 Como os guardas de um campo, eles cercam Jerusalém, porque ela se rebelou contra mim, diz o SENHOR.
18 O teu proceder e as tuas obras fizeram vir sobre ti estas coisas; a tua calamidade, que é amarga, atinge até o próprio coração.
19 Ah! Meu coração! Meu coração! Eu me contorço em dores. Oh! As paredes do meu coração! Meu coração se agita! Não posso calar-me, porque ouves, ó minha alma, o som da trombeta, o alarido de guerra.
20 Golpe sobre golpe se anuncia, pois a terra toda já está destruída; de súbito, foram destruídas as minhas tendas; num momento, as suas lonas.
21 Até quando terei de ver a bandeira, terei de ouvir a voz da trombeta?
22 Deveras, o meu povo está louco, já não me conhece; são filhos néscios e não inteligentes; são sábios para o mal e não sabem fazer o bem.
23 Olhei para a terra, e ei-la sem forma e vazia; para os céus, e não tinham luz.
24 Olhei para os montes, e eis que tremiam, e todos os outeiros estremeciam.
25 Olhei, e eis que não havia homem nenhum, e todas as aves dos céus haviam fugido.
26 Olhei ainda, e eis que a terra fértil era um deserto, e todas as suas cidades estavam derribadas diante do SENHOR, diante do furor da sua ira.
27 Pois assim diz o SENHOR: Toda a terra será assolada; porém não a consumirei de todo.
28 Por isso, a terra pranteará, e os céus acima se enegrecerão; porque falei, resolvi e não me arrependo, nem me retrato.
29 Ao clamor dos cavaleiros e dos flecheiros, fogem todas as cidades, entram pelas selvas e sobem pelos penhascos; todas as cidades ficam desamparadas, e já ninguém habita nelas.
30 Agora, pois, ó assolada, por que fazes assim, e te vestes de escarlata, e te adornas com enfeites de ouro, e alargas os olhos com pinturas, se debalde te fazes bela? Os amantes te desprezam e procuram tirar-te a vida.
31 Pois ouço uma voz, como de parturiente, uma angústia como da primípara em suas dores; a voz da filha de Sião, ofegante, que estende as mãos, dizendo: Ai de mim agora! Porque a minha alma desfalece por causa dos assassinos.
4 If thou wilt return, O Israel, saith the Lord, return unto me: and if thou wilt put away thine abominations out of my sight, then shalt thou not remove. 2 And thou shalt swear, The Lord liveth, in truth, in judgment, and in righteousness; and the nations shall bless themselves in him, and in him shall they glory. 3 For thus saith the Lord to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns. 4 Circumcise yourselves to the Lord, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings. 5 Declare ye in Judah, and publish in Jerusalem; and say, Blow ye the trumpet in the land: cry, gather together, and say, Assemble yourselves, and let us go into the defenced cities. 6 Set up the standard toward Zion: retire, stay not: for I will bring evil from the north, and a great destruction. 7 The lion is come up from his thicket, and the destroyer of the Gentiles is on his way; he is gone forth from his place to make thy land desolate; and thy cities shall be laid waste, without an inhabitant. 8 For this gird you with sackcloth, lament and howl: for the fierce anger of the Lord is not turned back from us. 9 And it shall come to pass at that day, saith the Lord, that the heart of the king shall perish, and the heart of the princes; and the priests shall be astonished, and the prophets shall wonder. 10 Then said I, Ah, Lord God! surely thou hast greatly deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying, Ye shall have peace; whereas the sword reacheth unto the soul. 11 At that time shall it be said to this people and to Jerusalem, A dry wind of the high places in the wilderness toward the daughter of my people, not to fan, nor to cleanse, 12 Even a full wind from those places shall come unto me: now also will I give sentence against them. 13 Behold, he shall come up as clouds, and his chariots shall be as a whirlwind: his horses are swifter than eagles. Woe unto us! for we are spoiled. 14 O Jerusalem, wash thine heart from wickedness, that thou mayest be saved. How long shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee? 15 For a voice declareth from Dan, and publisheth affliction from mount Ephraim. 16 Make ye mention to the nations; behold, publish against Jerusalem, that watchers come from a far country, and give out their voice against the cities of Judah. 17 As keepers of a field, are they against her round about; because she hath been rebellious against me, saith the Lord. 18 Thy way and thy doings have procured these things unto thee; this is thy wickedness, because it is bitter, because it reacheth unto thine heart. 19 My bowels, my bowels! I am pained at my very heart; my heart maketh a noise in me; I cannot hold my peace, because thou hast heard, O my soul, the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war. 20 Destruction upon destruction is cried; for the whole land is spoiled: suddenly are my tents spoiled, and my curtains in a moment. 21 How long shall I see the standard, and hear the sound of the trumpet? 22 For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge. 23 I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light. 24 I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly. 25 I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled. 26 I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the Lord, and by his fierce anger. 27 For thus hath the Lord said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end. 28 For this shall the earth mourn, and the heavens above be black; because I have spoken it, I have purposed it, and will not repent, neither will I turn back from it. 29 The whole city shall flee for the noise of the horsemen and bowmen; they shall go into thickets, and climb up upon the rocks: every city shall be forsaken, and not a man dwell therein. 30 And when thou art spoiled, what wilt thou do? Though thou clothest thyself with crimson, though thou deckest thee with ornaments of gold, though thou rentest thy face with painting, in vain shalt thou make thyself fair; thy lovers will despise thee, they will seek thy life. 31 For I have heard a voice as of a woman in travail, and the anguish as of her that bringeth forth her first child, the voice of the daughter of Zion, that bewaileth herself, that spreadeth her hands, saying, Woe is me now! for my soul is wearied because of murderers.

A fé verdadeira é a fé fundamentada na Palavra do Senhor Deus vivo. Não está fundamentada em emoções, pensamentos, condutas ou sentimentos humanos, porque consiste na perfeita e boaVontade do SENHOR.
Assim, a fé verdadeira não é religião, visto que, a religião diz: "Seja o que Deus quiser.." , isto porque a religião não tem força e nem poder algum para cumprir a perfeita Vontade do Senhor Jesus.
