Juízes 5
1 Naquele dia, cantaram Débora e Baraque, filho de Abinoão, dizendo:
2 Desde que os chefes se puseram à frente de Israel, e o povo se ofereceu voluntariamente, bendizei ao SENHOR.
3 Ouvi, reis, dai ouvidos, príncipes: eu, eu mesma cantarei ao SENHOR; salmodiarei ao SENHOR, Deus de Israel.
4 Saindo tu, ó SENHOR, de Seir, marchando desde o campo de Edom, a terra estremeceu; os céus gotejaram, sim, até as nuvens gotejaram águas.
5 Os montes vacilaram diante do SENHOR, e até o Sinai, diante do SENHOR, Deus de Israel.
6 Nos dias de Sangar, filho de Anate, nos dias de Jael, cessaram as caravanas; e os viajantes tomavam desvios tortuosos.
7 Ficaram desertas as aldeias em Israel, repousaram, até que eu, Débora, me levantei, levantei-me por mãe em Israel.
8 Escolheram-se deuses novos; então, a guerra estava às portas; não se via escudo nem lança entre quarenta mil em Israel.
9 Meu coração se inclina para os comandantes de Israel, que, voluntariamente, se ofereceram entre o povo; bendizei ao SENHOR.
10 Vós, os que cavalgais jumentas brancas, que vos assentais em juízo e que andais pelo caminho, falai disto.
11 À música dos distribuidores de água, lá entre os canais dos rebanhos, falai dos atos de justiça do SENHOR, das justiças a prol de suas aldeias em Israel. Então, o povo do SENHOR pôde descer ao seu lar.
12 Desperta, Débora, desperta, desperta, acorda, entoa um cântico; levanta-te, Baraque, e leva presos os que te prenderam, tu, filho de Abinoão.
13 Então, desceu o restante dos nobres, o povo do SENHOR em meu auxílio contra os poderosos.
14 De Efraim, cujas raízes estão na antiga região de Amaleque, desceram guerreiros; depois de ti, ó Débora, seguiu Benjamim com seus povos; de Maquir desceram comandantes, e, de Zebulom, os que levam a vara de comando.
15 Também os príncipes de Issacar foram com Débora; Issacar seguiu a Baraque, em cujas pegadas foi enviado para o vale. Entre as facções de Rúben houve grande discussão.
16 Por que ficaste entre os currais para ouvires a flauta? Entre as facções de Rúben houve grande discussão.
17 Gileade ficou dalém do Jordão, e Dã, por que se deteve junto a seus navios? Aser se assentou nas costas do mar e repousou nas suas baías.
18 Zebulom é povo que expôs a sua vida à morte, como também Naftali, nas alturas do campo.
19 Vieram reis e pelejaram; pelejaram os reis de Canaã em Taanaque, junto às águas de Megido; porém não levaram nenhum despojo de prata.
20 Desde os céus pelejaram as estrelas contra Sísera, desde a sua órbita o fizeram.
21 O ribeiro Quisom os arrastou, Quisom, o ribeiro das batalhas. Avante, ó minha alma, firme!
22 Então, as unhas dos cavalos socavam pelo galopar, o galopar dos seus guerreiros.
23 Amaldiçoai a Meroz, diz o Anjo do SENHOR, amaldiçoai duramente os seus moradores, porque não vieram em socorro do SENHOR, em socorro do SENHOR e seus heróis.
24 Bendita seja sobre as mulheres Jael, mulher de Héber, o queneu; bendita seja sobre as mulheres que vivem em tendas.
25 Água pediu ele, leite lhe deu ela; em taça de príncipes lhe ofereceu nata.
26 À estaca estendeu a mão e, ao maço dos trabalhadores, a direita; e deu o golpe em Sísera, rachou-lhe a cabeça, furou e traspassou-lhe as fontes.
27 Aos pés dela se encurvou, caiu e ficou estirado; a seus pés se encurvou e caiu; onde se encurvou, ali caiu morto.
28 A mãe de Sísera olhava pela janela e exclamava pela grade: Por que tarda em vir o seu carro? Por que se demoram os passos dos seus cavalos?
29 As mais sábias das suas damas respondem, e até ela a si mesma respondia:
30 Porventura, não achariam e repartiriam despojos? Uma ou duas moças, a cada homem? Para Sísera, estofos de várias cores, estofos de várias cores de bordados; um ou dois estofos bordados, para o pescoço da esposa?
31 Assim, ó SENHOR, pereçam todos os teus inimigos! Porém os que te amam brilham como o sol quando se levanta no seu esplendor. E a terra ficou em paz quarenta anos.
5 Then sang Deborah and Barak the son of Abinoam on that day, saying, 2 Praise ye the Lord for the avenging of Israel, when the people willingly offered themselves. 3 Hear, O ye kings; give ear, O ye princes; I, even I, will sing unto the Lord; I will sing praise to the Lord God of Israel. 4 Lord, when thou wentest out of Seir, when thou marchedst out of the field of Edom, the earth trembled, and the heavens dropped, the clouds also dropped water. 5 The mountains melted from before the Lord, even that Sinai from before the Lord God of Israel. 6 In the days of Shamgar the son of Anath, in the days of Jael, the highways were unoccupied, and the travellers walked through byways. 7 The inhabitants of the villages ceased, they ceased in Israel, until that I Deborah arose, that I arose a mother in Israel. 8 They chose new gods; then was war in the gates: was there a shield or spear seen among forty thousand in Israel? 9 My heart is toward the governors of Israel, that offered themselves willingly among the people. Bless ye the Lord. 10 Speak, ye that ride on white asses, ye that sit in judgment, and walk by the way. 11 They that are delivered from the noise of archers in the places of drawing water, there shall they rehearse the righteous acts of the Lord, even the righteous acts toward the inhabitants of his villages in Israel: then shall the people of the Lord go down to the gates. 12 Awake, awake, Deborah: awake, awake, utter a song: arise, Barak, and lead thy captivity captive, thou son of Abinoam. 13 Then he made him that remaineth have dominion over the nobles among the people: the Lord made me have dominion over the mighty. 14 Out of Ephraim was there a root of them against Amalek; after thee, Benjamin, among thy people; out of Machir came down governors, and out of Zebulun they that handle the pen of the writer. 15 And the princes of Issachar were with Deborah; even Issachar, and also Barak: he was sent on foot into the valley. For the divisions of Reuben there were great thoughts of heart. 16 Why abodest thou among the sheepfolds, to hear the bleatings of the flocks? For the divisions of Reuben there were great searchings of heart. 17 Gilead abode beyond Jordan: and why did Dan remain in ships? Asher continued on the sea shore, and abode in his breaches. 18 Zebulun and Naphtali were a people that jeoparded their lives unto the death in the high places of the field. 19 The kings came and fought, then fought the kings of Canaan in Taanach by the waters of Megiddo; they took no gain of money. 20 They fought from heaven; the stars in their courses fought against Sisera. 21 The river of Kishon swept them away, that ancient river, the river Kishon. O my soul, thou hast trodden down strength. 22 Then were the horsehoofs broken by the means of the pransings, the pransings of their mighty ones. 23 Curse ye Meroz, said the angel of the Lord, curse ye bitterly the inhabitants thereof; because they came not to the help of the Lord, to the help of the Lord against the mighty. 24 Blessed above women shall Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite be, blessed shall she be above women in the tent. 25 He asked water, and she gave him milk; she brought forth butter in a lordly dish. 26 She put her hand to the nail, and her right hand to the workmen's hammer; and with the hammer she smote Sisera, she smote off his head, when she had pierced and stricken through his temples. 27 At her feet he bowed, he fell, he lay down: at her feet he bowed, he fell: where he bowed, there he fell down dead. 28 The mother of Sisera looked out at a window, and cried through the lattice, Why is his chariot so long in coming? why tarry the wheels of his chariots? 29 Her wise ladies answered her, yea, she returned answer to herself, 30 Have they not sped? have they not divided the prey; to every man a damsel or two; to Sisera a prey of divers colours, a prey of divers colours of needlework, of divers colours of needlework on both sides, meet for the necks of them that take the spoil? 31 So let all thine enemies perish, O Lord: but let them that love him be as the sun when he goeth forth in his might. And the land had rest forty years.

Atos 9
1 Saulo, respirando ainda ameaças e morte contra os discípulos do Senhor, dirigiu-se ao sumo sacerdote
2 e lhe pediu cartas para as sinagogas de Damasco, a fim de que, caso achasse alguns que eram do Caminho, assim homens como mulheres, os levasse presos para Jerusalém.
3 Seguindo ele estrada fora, ao aproximar-se de Damasco, subitamente uma luz do céu brilhou ao seu redor,
4 e, caindo por terra, ouviu uma voz que lhe dizia: Saulo, Saulo, por que me persegues?
5 Ele perguntou: Quem és tu, Senhor? E a resposta foi: Eu sou Jesus, a quem tu persegues;
6 mas levanta-te e entra na cidade, onde te dirão o que te convém fazer.
7 Os seus companheiros de viagem pararam emudecidos, ouvindo a voz, não vendo, contudo, ninguém.
8 Então, se levantou Saulo da terra e, abrindo os olhos, nada podia ver. E, guiando-o pela mão, levaram-no para Damasco.
9 Esteve três dias sem ver, durante os quais nada comeu, nem bebeu.
10 Ora, havia em Damasco um discípulo chamado Ananias. Disse-lhe o Senhor numa visão: Ananias! Ao que respondeu: Eis-me aqui, Senhor!
11 Então, o Senhor lhe ordenou: Dispõe-te, e vai à rua que se chama Direita, e, na casa de Judas, procura por Saulo, apelidado de Tarso; pois ele está orando
12 e viu entrar um homem, chamado Ananias, e impor-lhe as mãos, para que recuperasse a vista.
13 Ananias, porém, respondeu: Senhor, de muitos tenho ouvido a respeito desse homem, quantos males tem feito aos teus santos em Jerusalém;
14 e para aqui trouxe autorização dos principais sacerdotes para prender a todos os que invocam o teu nome.
15 Mas o Senhor lhe disse: Vai, porque este é para mim um instrumento escolhido para levar o meu nome perante os gentios e reis, bem como perante os filhos de Israel;
16 pois eu lhe mostrarei quanto lhe importa sofrer pelo meu nome.
17 Então, Ananias foi e, entrando na casa, impôs sobre ele as mãos, dizendo: Saulo, irmão, o Senhor me enviou, a saber, o próprio Jesus que te apareceu no caminho por onde vinhas, para que recuperes a vista e fiques cheio do Espírito Santo.
18 Imediatamente, lhe caíram dos olhos como que umas escamas, e tornou a ver. A seguir, levantou-se e foi batizado.
19 E, depois de ter-se alimentado, sentiu-se fortalecido. Então, permaneceu em Damasco alguns dias com os discípulos.
20 E logo pregava, nas sinagogas, a Jesus, afirmando que este é o Filho de Deus.
21 Ora, todos os que o ouviam estavam atônitos e diziam: Não é este o que exterminava em Jerusalém os que invocavam o nome de Jesus e para aqui veio precisamente com o fim de os levar amarrados aos principais sacerdotes?
22 Saulo, porém, mais e mais se fortalecia e confundia os judeus que moravam em Damasco, demonstrando que Jesus é o Cristo.
23 Decorridos muitos dias, os judeus deliberaram entre si tirar-lhe a vida;
24 porém o plano deles chegou ao conhecimento de Saulo. Dia e noite guardavam também as portas, para o matarem.
25 Mas os seus discípulos tomaram-no de noite e, colocando-o num cesto, desceram-no pela muralha.
26 Tendo chegado a Jerusalém, procurou juntar-se com os discípulos; todos, porém, o temiam, não acreditando que ele fosse discípulo.
27 Mas Barnabé, tomando-o consigo, levou-o aos apóstolos; e contou-lhes como ele vira o Senhor no caminho, e que este lhe falara, e como em Damasco pregara ousadamente em nome de Jesus.
28 Estava com eles em Jerusalém, entrando e saindo, pregando ousadamente em nome do Senhor.
29 Falava e discutia com os helenistas; mas eles procuravam tirar-lhe a vida.
30 Tendo, porém, isto chegado ao conhecimento dos irmãos, levaram-no até Cesaréia e dali o enviaram para Tarso.
31 A igreja, na verdade, tinha paz por toda a Judéia, Galiléia e Samaria, edificando-se e caminhando no temor do Senhor, e, no conforto do Espírito Santo, crescia em número.
32 Passando Pedro por toda parte, desceu também aos santos que habitavam em Lida.
33 Encontrou ali certo homem, chamado Enéias, que havia oito anos jazia de cama, pois era paralítico.
34 Disse-lhe Pedro: Enéias, Jesus Cristo te cura! Levanta-te e arruma o teu leito. Ele, imediatamente, se levantou.
35 Viram-no todos os habitantes de Lida e Sarona, os quais se converteram ao Senhor.
36 Havia em Jope uma discípula por nome Tabita, nome este que, traduzido, quer dizer Dorcas; era ela notável pelas boas obras e esmolas que fazia.
37 Ora, aconteceu, naqueles dias, que ela adoeceu e veio a morrer; e, depois de a lavarem, puseram-na no cenáculo.
38 Como Lida era perto de Jope, ouvindo os discípulos que Pedro estava ali, enviaram-lhe dois homens que lhe pedissem: Não demores em vir ter conosco.
39 Pedro atendeu e foi com eles. Tendo chegado, conduziram-no para o cenáculo; e todas as viúvas o cercaram, chorando e mostrando-lhe túnicas e vestidos que Dorcas fizera enquanto estava com elas.
40 Mas Pedro, tendo feito sair a todos, pondo-se de joelhos, orou; e, voltando-se para o corpo, disse: Tabita, levanta-te! Ela abriu os olhos e, vendo a Pedro, sentou-se.
41 Ele, dando-lhe a mão, levantou-a; e, chamando os santos, especialmente as viúvas, apresentou-a viva.
42 Isto se tornou conhecido por toda Jope, e muitos creram no Senhor.
43 Pedro ficou em Jope muitos dias, em casa de um curtidor chamado Simão.
9 And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,
2 And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.
3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:
4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.
7 And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man.
8 And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus.
9 And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink.
10 And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord.
11 And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,
12 And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight.
13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:
14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.
15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:
16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake.
17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.
18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.
19 And when he had received meat, he was strengthened. Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus.
20 And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.
21 But all that heard him were amazed, and said; Is not this he that destroyed them which called on this name in Jerusalem, and came hither for that intent, that he might bring them bound unto the chief priests?
22 But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.
23 And after that many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him:
24 But their laying await was known of Saul. And they watched the gates day and night to kill him.
25 Then the disciples took him by night, and let him down by the wall in a basket.
26 And when Saul was come to Jerusalem, he assayed to join himself to the disciples: but they were all afraid of him, and believed not that he was a disciple.
27 But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.
28 And he was with them coming in and going out at Jerusalem.
29 And he spake boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus, and disputed against the Grecians: but they went about to slay him.
30 Which when the brethren knew, they brought him down to Caesarea, and sent him forth to Tarsus.
31 Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.
32 And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all quarters, he came down also to the saints which dwelt at Lydda.
33 And there he found a certain man named Aeneas, which had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy.
34 And Peter said unto him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately.
35 And all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron saw him, and turned to the Lord.
36 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.
37 And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber.
38 And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them.
39 Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.
40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
41 And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.
42 And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord.
43 And it came to pass, that he tarried many days in Joppa with one Simon a tanner.

Jeremias 18
1 Palavra do SENHOR que veio a Jeremias, dizendo:
2 Dispõe-te, e desce à casa do oleiro, e lá ouvirás as minhas palavras.
3 Desci à casa do oleiro, e eis que ele estava entregue à sua obra sobre as rodas.
4 Como o vaso que o oleiro fazia de barro se lhe estragou na mão, tornou a fazer dele outro vaso, segundo bem lhe pareceu.
5 Então, veio a mim a palavra do SENHOR:
6 Não poderei eu fazer de vós como fez este oleiro, ó casa de Israel? – diz o SENHOR; eis que, como o barro na mão do oleiro, assim sois vós na minha mão, ó casa de Israel.
7 No momento em que eu falar acerca de uma nação ou de um reino para o arrancar, derribar e destruir,
8 se a tal nação se converter da maldade contra a qual eu falei, também eu me arrependerei do mal que pensava fazer-lhe.
9 E, no momento em que eu falar acerca de uma nação ou de um reino, para o edificar e plantar,
10 se ele fizer o que é mau perante mim e não der ouvidos à minha voz, então, me arrependerei do bem que houvera dito lhe faria.
11 Ora, pois, fala agora aos homens de Judá e aos moradores de Jerusalém, dizendo: Assim diz o SENHOR: Eis que estou forjando mal e formo um plano contra vós outros; convertei-vos, pois, agora, cada um do seu mau proceder e emendai os vossos caminhos e as vossas ações.
12 Mas eles dizem: Não há esperança, porque andaremos consoante os nossos projetos, e cada um fará segundo a dureza do seu coração maligno.
13 Portanto, assim diz o SENHOR: Perguntai agora entre os gentios sobre quem ouviu tal coisa. Coisa sobremaneira horrenda cometeu a virgem de Israel!
14 Acaso, a neve deixará o Líbano, a rocha que se ergue na planície? Ou faltarão as águas que vêm de longe, frias e correntes?
15 Contudo, todos os do meu povo se têm esquecido de mim, queimando incenso aos ídolos, que os fizeram tropeçar nos seus caminhos e nas veredas antigas, para que andassem por veredas não aterradas;
16 para fazerem da sua terra um espanto e objeto de perpétuo assobio; todo aquele que passar por ela se espantará e meneará a cabeça.
17 Com vento oriental os espalharei diante do inimigo; mostrar-lhes-ei as costas e não o rosto, no dia da sua calamidade.
18 Então, disseram: Vinde, e forjemos projetos contra Jeremias; porquanto não há de faltar a lei ao sacerdote, nem o conselho ao sábio, nem a palavra ao profeta; vinde, firamo-lo com a língua e não atendamos a nenhuma das suas palavras.
19 Olha para mim, SENHOR, e ouve a voz dos que contendem comigo.
20 Acaso, pagar-se-á mal por bem? Pois abriram uma cova para a minha alma. Lembra-te de que eu compareci à tua presença, para interceder pelo seu bem-estar, para desviar deles a tua indignação.
21 Portanto, entrega seus filhos à fome e ao poder da espada; sejam suas mulheres roubadas dos filhos e fiquem viúvas; seus maridos sejam mortos de peste, e os seus jovens, feridos à espada na peleja.
22 Ouça-se o clamor de suas casas, quando trouxeres bandos sobre eles de repente. Porquanto abriram cova para prender-me e puseram armadilha aos meus pés.
23 Mas tu, ó SENHOR, sabes todo o seu conselho contra mim para matar-me; não lhes perdoes a iniquidade, nem lhes apagues o pecado de diante da tua face; mas sejam derribados diante de ti; age contra eles no tempo da tua ira.
18 The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying, 2 Arise, and go down to the potter's house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words. 3 Then I went down to the potter's house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels. 4 And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it. 5 Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 6 O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the Lord. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel. 7 At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it; 8 If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them. 9 And at what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it; 10 If it do evil in my sight, that it obey not my voice, then I will repent of the good, wherewith I said I would benefit them. 11 Now therefore go to, speak to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the Lord; Behold, I frame evil against you, and devise a device against you: return ye now every one from his evil way, and make your ways and your doings good. 12 And they said, There is no hope: but we will walk after our own devices, and we will every one do the imagination of his evil heart. 13 Therefore thus saith the Lord; Ask ye now among the heathen, who hath heard such things: the virgin of Israel hath done a very horrible thing. 14 Will a man leave the snow of Lebanon which cometh from the rock of the field? or shall the cold flowing waters that come from another place be forsaken? 15 Because my people hath forgotten me, they have burned incense to vanity, and they have caused them to stumble in their ways from the ancient paths, to walk in paths, in a way not cast up; 16 To make their land desolate, and a perpetual hissing; every one that passeth thereby shall be astonished, and wag his head. 17 I will scatter them as with an east wind before the enemy; I will shew them the back, and not the face, in the day of their calamity. 18 Then said they, Come and let us devise devices against Jeremiah; for the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, and let us smite him with the tongue, and let us not give heed to any of his words. 19 Give heed to me, O Lord, and hearken to the voice of them that contend with me. 20 Shall evil be recompensed for good? for they have digged a pit for my soul. Remember that I stood before thee to speak good for them, and to turn away thy wrath from them. 21 Therefore deliver up their children to the famine, and pour out their blood by the force of the sword; and let their wives be bereaved of their children, and be widows; and let their men be put to death; let their young men be slain by the sword in battle. 22 Let a cry be heard from their houses, when thou shalt bring a troop suddenly upon them: for they have digged a pit to take me, and hid snares for my feet. 23 Yet, Lord, thou knowest all their counsel against me to slay me: forgive not their iniquity, neither blot out their sin from thy sight, but let them be overthrown before thee; deal thus with them in the time of thine anger.
