Josué 14
1 São estas as heranças que os filhos de Israel tiveram na terra de Canaã, o que Eleazar, o sacerdote, e Josué, filho de Num, e os cabeças dos pais das tribos dos filhos de Israel lhes fizeram repartir
2 por sorte da sua herança, como o SENHOR ordenara por intermédio de Moisés, acerca das nove tribos e meia.
3 Porquanto às duas tribos e meia já dera Moisés herança além do Jordão; mas aos levitas não tinha dado herança entre seus irmãos.
4 Os filhos de José foram duas tribos, Manassés e Efraim; aos levitas não deram herança na terra, senão cidades em que habitassem e os seus arredores para seu gado e para sua possessão.
5 Como o SENHOR ordenara a Moisés, assim fizeram os filhos de Israel e repartiram a terra.
6 Chegaram os filhos de Judá a Josué em Gilgal; e Calebe, filho de Jefoné, o quenezeu, lhe disse: Tu sabes o que o SENHOR falou a Moisés, homem de Deus, em Cades-Barnéia, a respeito de mim e de ti.
7 Tinha eu quarenta anos quando Moisés, servo do SENHOR, me enviou de Cades-Barnéia para espiar a terra; e eu lhe relatei como sentia no coração.
8 Mas meus irmãos que subiram comigo desesperaram o povo; eu, porém, perseverei em seguir o SENHOR, meu Deus.
9 Então, Moisés, naquele dia, jurou, dizendo: Certamente, a terra em que puseste o pé será tua e de teus filhos, em herança perpetuamente, pois perseveraste em seguir o SENHOR, meu Deus.
10 Eis, agora, o SENHOR me conservou em vida, como prometeu; quarenta e cinco anos há desde que o SENHOR falou esta palavra a Moisés, andando Israel ainda no deserto; e, já agora, sou de oitenta e cinco anos.
11 Estou forte ainda hoje como no dia em que Moisés me enviou; qual era a minha força naquele dia, tal ainda agora para o combate, tanto para sair a ele como para voltar.
12 Agora, pois, dá-me este monte de que o SENHOR falou naquele dia, pois, naquele dia, ouviste que lá estavam os anaquins e grandes e fortes cidades; o SENHOR, porventura, será comigo, para os desapossar, como prometeu.
13 Josué o abençoou e deu a Calebe, filho de Jefoné, Hebrom em herança.
14 Portanto, Hebrom passou a ser de Calebe, filho de Jefoné, o quenezeu, em herança até ao dia de hoje, visto que perseverara em seguir o SENHOR, Deus de Israel.
15 Dantes o nome de Hebrom era Quiriate-Arba; este Arba foi o maior homem entre os anaquins. E a terra repousou da guerra.
14 And these are the countries which the children of Israel inherited in the land of Canaan, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, distributed for inheritance to them. 2 By lot was their inheritance, as the Lord commanded by the hand of Moses, for the nine tribes, and for the half tribe. 3 For Moses had given the inheritance of two tribes and an half tribe on the other side Jordan: but unto the Levites he gave none inheritance among them. 4 For the children of Joseph were two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim: therefore they gave no part unto the Levites in the land, save cities to dwell in, with their suburbs for their cattle and for their substance. 5 As the Lord commanded Moses, so the children of Israel did, and they divided the land. 6 Then the children of Judah came unto Joshua in Gilgal: and Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite said unto him, Thou knowest the thing that the Lord said unto Moses the man of God concerning me and thee in Kadeshbarnea. 7 Forty years old was I when Moses the servant of the Lord sent me from Kadeshbarnea to espy out the land; and I brought him word again as it was in mine heart. 8 Nevertheless my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt: but I wholly followed the Lord my God. 9 And Moses sware on that day, saying, Surely the land whereon thy feet have trodden shall be thine inheritance, and thy children's for ever, because thou hast wholly followed the Lord my God. 10 And now, behold, the Lord hath kept me alive, as he said, these forty and five years, even since the Lord spake this word unto Moses, while the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness: and now, lo, I am this day fourscore and five years old. 11 As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in. 12 Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the Lord spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the Lord will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the Lord said. 13 And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh Hebron for an inheritance. 14 Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite unto this day, because that he wholly followed the Lord God of Israel. 15 And the name of Hebron before was Kirjatharba; which Arba was a great man among the Anakims. And the land had rest from war.

Josué 15
1 A sorte da tribo dos filhos de Judá, segundo as suas famílias, caiu para o sul, até ao limite de Edom, até ao deserto de Zim, até à extremidade do lado sul.
2 Foi o seu limite ao sul, desde a extremidade do mar Salgado, desde a baía que olha para o sul;
3 e sai para o sul, até à subida de Acrabim, passa a Zim, sobe do sul a Cades-Barnéia,
4 passa por Hezrom, sobe a Adar e rodeia Carca; passa por Azmom e sai ao ribeiro do Egito; as saídas deste limite vão até ao mar; este será o vosso limite do lado sul.
5 O limite, porém, para o oriente será o mar Salgado, até à foz do Jordão; e o limite para o norte será da baía do mar, começando com a embocadura do Jordão,
6 limite que sobe até Bete-Hogla e passa do norte a Bete-Arabá, subindo até à pedra de Boã, filho de Rúben,
7 subindo ainda este limite a Debir desde o vale de Acor, olhando para o norte, rumo a Gilgal, a qual está à subida de Adumim, que está para o sul do ribeiro; daí, o limite passa até às águas de En-Semes; e as suas saídas estarão do lado de En-Rogel.
8 Deste ponto sobe pelo vale do Filho de Hinom, do lado dos jebuseus do Sul, isto é, Jerusalém; e sobe este limite até ao cimo do monte que está diante do vale de Hinom, para o ocidente, que está no fim do vale dos Refains, do lado norte.
9 Então, vai o limite desde o cimo do monte até à fonte das águas de Neftoa; e sai até às cidades do monte Efrom; vai mais este limite até Baalá, isto é, Quiriate-Jearim.
10 Então, dá volta o limite desde Baalá, para o ocidente, até ao monte Seir, passa ao lado do monte de Jearim do lado norte, isto é, Quesalom, e, descendo a Bete-Semes, passa por Timna.
11 Segue mais ainda o limite ao lado de Ecrom, para o norte, e, indo a Siquerom, passa o monte de Baalá, saindo em Jabneel, para terminar no mar.
12 O limite, porém, do lado ocidental é o mar Grande e as suas imediações. São estes os limites dos filhos de Judá ao redor, segundo as suas famílias.
13 A Calebe, filho de Jefoné, porém, deu Josué uma parte no meio dos filhos de Judá, segundo lhe ordenara o SENHOR, a saber, Quiriate-Arba, isto é, Hebrom; este Arba era o pai de Anaque.
14 Dali expulsou Calebe os três filhos de Anaque: Sesai, Aimã e Talmai, gerados de Anaque.
15 Subiu aos habitantes de Debir, cujo nome, dantes, era Quiriate-Sefer.
16 Disse Calebe: A quem derrotar Quiriate-Sefer e a tomar, darei minha filha Acsa por mulher.
17 Tomou-a, pois, Otniel, filho de Quenaz, irmão de Calebe; este lhe deu a filha Acsa por mulher.
18 Esta, quando se foi a Otniel, insistiu com ele para que pedisse um campo ao pai dela; e ela apeou do jumento; então, Calebe lhe perguntou: Que desejas?
19 Respondeu ela: Dá-me um presente; deste-me terra seca, dá-me também fontes de água. Então, lhe deu as fontes superiores e as fontes inferiores.
20 Esta é a herança da tribo dos filhos de Judá, segundo as suas famílias.
21 São, pois, as cidades no extremo sul da tribo dos filhos de Judá, rumo do território de Edom: Cabzeel, Éder, Jagur,
22 Quiná, Dimona, Adada,
23 Quedes, Hazor, Itnã,
24 Zife, Telém, Bealote,
25 Hazor-Hadata, Queriote-Hezrom (que é Hazor),
26 Amã, Sema, Molada,
27 Hazar-Gada, Hesmom, Bete-Palete,
28 Hazar-Sual, Berseba, Biziotiá,
29 Baalá, Iim, Ezém,
30 Eltolade, Quesil, Horma,
31 Ziclague, Madmana, Sansana,
32 Lebaote, Silim, Aim e Rimom; ao todo, vinte e nove cidades com suas aldeias.
33 Nas planícies: Estaol, Zorá, Asná,
34 Zanoa, En-Ganim, Tapua, Enã,
35 Jarmute, Adulão, Socó, Azeca,
36 Saaraim, Aditaim, Gedera e Gederotaim; ao todo, catorze cidades com suas aldeias.
37 Zenã, Hadasa, Migdal-Gade,
38 Dileã, Mispa, Jocteel,
39 Laquis, Boscate, Eglom,
40 Cabom, Laamás, Quitlis,
41 Gederote, Bete-Dagom, Naamá e Maquedá; ao todo, dezesseis cidades com suas aldeias.
42 Libna, Eter, Asã,
43 Ifta, Asná, Nezibe,
44 Queila, Aczibe e Maressa; ao todo, nove cidades com suas aldeias.
45 Ecrom com suas vilas e aldeias;
46 desde Ecrom até ao mar, todas as que estão do lado de Asdode, com suas aldeias.
47 Asdode, suas vilas e aldeias; Gaza, suas vilas e aldeias, até ao rio do Egito e o mar Grande com as suas imediações.
48 Na região montanhosa: Samir, Jatir, Socó,
49 Daná, Quiriate-Sana, que é Debir,
50 Anabe, Estemoa, Anim,
51 Gósen, Holom e Gilo; ao todo, onze cidades com suas aldeias.
52 Arabe, Dumá, Esã,
53 Janim, Bete-Tapua, Afeca,
54 Hunta, Quiriate-Arba (que é Hebrom) e Zior; ao todo, nove cidades com suas aldeias.
55 Maom, Carmelo, Zife, Jutá,
56 Jezreel, Jocdeão, Zanoa,
57 Caim, Gibeá e Timna; ao todo, dez cidades com suas aldeias.
58 Halul, Bete-Zur, Gedor,
59 Maarate, Bete-Anote e Eltecom; ao todo, seis cidades com suas aldeias.
60 Quiriate-Baal (que é Quiriate-Jearim) e Rabá; ao todo, duas cidades com suas aldeias.
61 No deserto: Bete-Arabá, Midim, Secaca,
62 Nibsã, Cidade do Sal e En-Gedi; ao todo, seis cidades com suas aldeias.
63 Não puderam, porém, os filhos de Judá expulsar os jebuseus que habitavam em Jerusalém; assim, habitam os jebuseus com os filhos de Judá em Jerusalém até ao dia de hoje.
15 This then was the lot of the tribe of the children of Judah by their families; even to the border of Edom the wilderness of Zin southward was the uttermost part of the south coast.
2 And their south border was from the shore of the salt sea, from the bay that looketh southward: 3 And it went out to the south side to Maalehacrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and ascended up on the south side unto Kadeshbarnea, and passed along to Hezron, and went up to Adar, and fetched a compass to Karkaa: 4 From thence it passed toward Azmon, and went out unto the river of Egypt; and the goings out of that coast were at the sea: this shall be your south coast. 5 And the east border was the salt sea, even unto the end of Jordan. And their border in the north quarter was from the bay of the sea at the uttermost part of Jordan: 6 And the border went up to Bethhogla, and passed along by the north of Betharabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben: 7 And the border went up toward Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is before the going up to Adummim, which is on the south side of the river: and the border passed toward the waters of Enshemesh, and the goings out thereof were at Enrogel: 8 And the border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom unto the south side of the Jebusite; the same is Jerusalem: and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lieth before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the end of the valley of the giants northward: 9 And the border was drawn from the top of the hill unto the fountain of the water of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of mount Ephron; and the border was drawn to Baalah, which is Kirjathjearim: 10 And the border compassed from Baalah westward unto mount Seir, and passed along unto the side of mount Jearim, which is Chesalon, on the north side, and went down to Bethshemesh, and passed on to Timnah: 11 And the border went out unto the side of Ekron northward: and the border was drawn to Shicron, and passed along to mount Baalah, and went out unto Jabneel; and the goings out of the border were at the sea. 12 And the west border was to the great sea, and the coast thereof. This is the coast of the children of Judah round about according to their families. 13 And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a part among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the Lord to Joshua, even the city of Arba the father of Anak, which city is Hebron. 14 And Caleb drove thence the three sons of Anak, Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak. 15 And he went up thence to the inhabitants of Debir: and the name of Debir before was Kirjathsepher. 16 And Caleb said, He that smiteth Kirjathsepher, and taketh it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife. 17 And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife. 18 And it came to pass, as she came unto him, that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she lighted off her ass; and Caleb said unto her, What wouldest thou? 19 Who answered, Give me a blessing; for thou hast given me a south land; give me also springs of water. And he gave her the upper springs, and the nether springs. 20 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families. 21 And the uttermost cities of the tribe of the children of Judah toward the coast of Edom southward were Kabzeel, and Eder, and Jagur, 22 And Kinah, and Dimonah, and Adadah, 23 And Kedesh, and Hazor, and Ithnan, 24 Ziph, and Telem, and Bealoth, 25 And Hazor, Hadattah, and Kerioth, and Hezron, which is Hazor, 26 Amam, and Shema, and Moladah, 27 And Hazargaddah, and Heshmon, and Bethpalet, 28 And Hazarshual, and Beersheba, and Bizjothjah, 29 Baalah, and Iim, and Azem, 30 And Eltolad, and Chesil, and Hormah, 31 And Ziklag, and Madmannah, and Sansannah, 32 And Lebaoth, and Shilhim, and Ain, and Rimmon: all the cities are twenty and nine, with their villages: 33 And in the valley, Eshtaol, and Zoreah, and Ashnah, 34 And Zanoah, and Engannim, Tappuah, and Enam, 35 Jarmuth, and Adullam, Socoh, and Azekah, 36 And Sharaim, and Adithaim, and Gederah, and Gederothaim; fourteen cities with their villages: 37 Zenan, and Hadashah, and Migdalgad, 38 And Dilean, and Mizpeh, and Joktheel, 39 Lachish, and Bozkath, and Eglon, 40 And Cabbon, and Lahmam, and Kithlish, 41 And Gederoth, Bethdagon, and Naamah, and Makkedah; sixteen cities with their villages: 42 Libnah, and Ether, and Ashan, 43 And Jiphtah, and Ashnah, and Nezib, 44 And Keilah, and Achzib, and Mareshah; nine cities with their villages: 45 Ekron, with her towns and her villages: 46 From Ekron even unto the sea, all that lay near Ashdod, with their villages: 47 Ashdod with her towns and her villages, Gaza with her towns and her villages, unto the river of Egypt, and the great sea, and the border thereof: 48 And in the mountains, Shamir, and Jattir, and Socoh, 49 And Dannah, and Kirjathsannah, which is Debir, 50 And Anab, and Eshtemoh, and Anim, 51 And Goshen, and Holon, and Giloh; eleven cities with their villages: 52 Arab, and Dumah, and Eshean, 53 And Janum, and Bethtappuah, and Aphekah, 54 And Humtah, and Kirjatharba, which is Hebron, and Zior; nine cities with their villages: 55 Maon, Carmel, and Ziph, and Juttah, 56 And Jezreel, and Jokdeam, and Zanoah, 57 Cain, Gibeah, and Timnah; ten cities with their villages: 58 Halhul, Bethzur, and Gedor, 59 And Maarath, and Bethanoth, and Eltekon; six cities with their villages: 60 Kirjathbaal, which is Kirjathjearim, and Rabbah; two cities with their villages: 61 In the wilderness, Betharabah, Middin, and Secacah, 62 And Nibshan, and the city of Salt, and Engedi; six cities with their villages. 63 As for the Jebusites the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah could not drive them out; but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Judah at Jerusalem unto this day.

Salmos 146
1 Aleluia! Louva, ó minha alma, ao SENHOR.
2 Louvarei ao SENHOR durante a minha vida; cantarei louvores ao meu Deus, enquanto eu viver.
3 Não confieis em príncipes, nem nos filhos dos homens, em quem não há salvação.
4 Sai-lhes o espírito, e eles tornam ao pó; nesse mesmo dia, perecem todos os seus desígnios.
5 Bem-aventurado aquele que tem o Deus de Jacó por seu auxílio, cuja esperança está no SENHOR, seu Deus,
6 que fez os céus e a terra, o mar e tudo o que neles há e mantém para sempre a sua fidelidade.
7 Que faz justiça aos oprimidos e dá pão aos que têm fome. O SENHOR liberta os encarcerados.
8 O SENHOR abre os olhos aos cegos, o SENHOR levanta os abatidos, o SENHOR ama os justos.
9 O SENHOR guarda o peregrino, ampara o órfão e a viúva, porém transtorna o caminho dos ímpios.
10 O SENHOR reina para sempre; o teu Deus, ó Sião, reina de geração em geração. Aleluia!
146 Praise ye the Lord. Praise the Lord, O my soul.
2 While I live will I praise the Lord: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being. 3 Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help. 4 His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish. 5 Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God: 6 Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keepeth truth for ever: 7 Which executeth judgment for the oppressed: which giveth food to the hungry. 1 Louvai ao SENHOR, porque é bom e amável cantar louvores ao nosso Deus; fica-lhe bem o cântico de louvor.
2 O SENHOR edifica Jerusalém e congrega os dispersos de Israel;
3 sara os de coração quebrantado e lhes pensa as feridas.
4 Conta o número das estrelas, chamando-as todas pelo seu nome.
5 Grande é o Senhor nosso e mui poderoso; o seu entendimento não se pode medir.
6 O SENHOR ampara os humildes e dá com os ímpios em terra.
7 Cantai ao SENHOR com ações de graças; entoai louvores, ao som da harpa, ao nosso Deus,
8 que cobre de nuvens os céus, prepara a chuva para a terra, faz brotar nos montes a erva
9 e dá o alimento aos animais e aos filhos dos corvos, quando clamam.
10 Não faz caso da força do cavalo, nem se compraz nos músculos do guerreiro.
11 Agrada-se o SENHOR dos que o temem e dos que esperam na sua misericórdia.
12 Louva, Jerusalém, ao SENHOR; louva, Sião, ao teu Deus.
13 Pois ele reforçou as trancas das tuas portas e abençoou os teus filhos, dentro de ti;
14 estabeleceu a paz nas tuas fronteiras e te farta com o melhor do trigo.
15 Ele envia as suas ordens à terra, e sua palavra corre velozmente;
16 dá a neve como lã e espalha a geada como cinza.
17 Ele arroja o seu gelo em migalhas; quem resiste ao seu frio?
18 Manda a sua palavra e o derrete; faz soprar o vento, e as águas correm.
19 Mostra a sua palavra a Jacó, as suas leis e os seus preceitos, a Israel.
20 Não fez assim a nenhuma outra nação; todas ignoram os seus preceitos. Aleluia!
147 Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.
2 The Lord doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel. 3 He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. 4 He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names. 5 Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite. 6 The Lord lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground. 7 Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God: 8 Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains. 9 He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry. 10 He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man. 11 The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy. 12 Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion. 13 For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee. 14 He maketh peace in thy borders, and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat. 15 He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth very swiftly. 16 He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes. 17 He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold? 18 He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow. 19 He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel. 20 He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Jeremias 7
1 Palavra que da parte do SENHOR foi dita a Jeremias:
2 Põe-te à porta da Casa do SENHOR, e proclama ali esta palavra, e dize: Ouvi a palavra do SENHOR, todos de Judá, vós, os que entrais por estas portas, para adorardes ao SENHOR.
3 Assim diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos, o Deus de Israel: Emendai os vossos caminhos e as vossas obras, e eu vos farei habitar neste lugar.
4 Não confieis em palavras falsas, dizendo: Templo do SENHOR, templo do SENHOR, templo do SENHOR é este.
5 Mas, se deveras emendardes os vossos caminhos e as vossas obras, se deveras praticardes a justiça, cada um com o seu próximo;
6 se não oprimirdes o estrangeiro, e o órfão, e a viúva, nem derramardes sangue inocente neste lugar, nem andardes após outros deuses para vosso próprio mal,
7 eu vos farei habitar neste lugar, na terra que dei a vossos pais, desde os tempos antigos e para sempre.
8 Eis que vós confiais em palavras falsas, que para nada vos aproveitam.
9 Que é isso? Furtais e matais, cometeis adultério e jurais falsamente, queimais incenso a Baal e andais após outros deuses que não conheceis,
10 e depois vindes, e vos pondes diante de mim nesta casa que se chama pelo meu nome, e dizeis: Estamos salvos; sim, só para continuardes a praticar estas abominações!
11 Será esta casa que se chama pelo meu nome um covil de salteadores aos vossos olhos? Eis que eu, eu mesmo, vi isto, diz o SENHOR.
12 Mas ide agora ao meu lugar que estava em Siló, onde, no princípio, fiz habitar o meu nome, e vede o que lhe fiz, por causa da maldade do meu povo de Israel.
13 Agora, pois, visto que fazeis todas estas obras, diz o SENHOR, e eu vos falei, começando de madrugada, e não me ouvistes, chamei-vos, e não me respondestes,
14 farei também a esta casa que se chama pelo meu nome, na qual confiais, e a este lugar, que vos dei a vós outros e a vossos pais, como fiz a Siló.
15 Lançar-vos-ei da minha presença, como arrojei a todos os vossos irmãos, a toda a posteridade de Efraim.
16 Tu, pois, não intercedas por este povo, nem levantes por ele clamor ou oração, nem me importunes, porque eu não te ouvirei.
17 Acaso, não vês tu o que andam fazendo nas cidades de Judá e nas ruas de Jerusalém?
18 Os filhos apanham a lenha, os pais acendem o fogo, e as mulheres amassam a farinha, para se fazerem bolos à Rainha dos Céus; e oferecem libações a outros deuses, para me provocarem à ira.
19 Acaso, é a mim que eles provocam à ira, diz o SENHOR, e não, antes, a si mesmos, para a sua própria vergonha?
20 Portanto, assim diz o SENHOR Deus: Eis que a minha ira e o meu furor se derramarão sobre este lugar, sobre os homens e sobre os animais, sobre as árvores do campo e sobre os frutos da terra; arderá e não se apagará.
21 Assim diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos, o Deus de Israel: Ajuntai os vossos holocaustos aos vossos sacrifícios e comei carne.
22 Porque nada falei a vossos pais, no dia em que os tirei da terra do Egito, nem lhes ordenei coisa alguma acerca de holocaustos ou sacrifícios.
23 Mas isto lhes ordenei, dizendo: Dai ouvidos à minha voz, e eu serei o vosso Deus, e vós sereis o meu povo; andai em todo o caminho que eu vos ordeno, para que vos vá bem.
24 Mas não deram ouvidos, nem atenderam, porém andaram nos seus próprios conselhos e na dureza do seu coração maligno; andaram para trás e não para diante.
25 Desde o dia em que vossos pais saíram da terra do Egito até hoje, enviei-vos todos os meus servos, os profetas, todos os dias; começando de madrugada, eu os enviei.
26 Mas não me destes ouvidos, nem me atendestes; endurecestes a cerviz e fizestes pior do que vossos pais.
27 Dir-lhes-ás, pois, todas estas palavras, mas não te darão ouvidos; chamá-los-ás, mas não te responderão.
28 Dir-lhes-ás: Esta é a nação que não atende à voz do SENHOR, seu Deus, e não aceita a disciplina; já pereceu, a verdade foi eliminada da sua boca.
29 Corta os teus cabelos consagrados, ó Jerusalém, e põe-te a prantear sobre os altos desnudos; porque já o SENHOR rejeitou e desamparou a geração objeto do seu furor;
30 porque os filhos de Judá fizeram o que era mau perante mim, diz o SENHOR; puseram os seus ídolos abomináveis na casa que se chama pelo meu nome, para a contaminarem.
31 Edificaram os altos de Tofete, que está no vale do filho de Hinom, para queimarem a seus filhos e a suas filhas; o que nunca ordenei, nem me passou pela mente.
32 Portanto, eis que virão dias, diz o SENHOR, em que já não se chamará Tofete, nem vale do filho de Hinom, mas o vale da Matança; os mortos serão enterrados em Tofete por não haver outro lugar.
33 Os cadáveres deste povo servirão de pasto às aves dos céus e aos animais da terra; e ninguém haverá que os espante.
34 Farei cessar nas cidades de Judá e nas ruas de Jerusalém a voz de folguedo e a de alegria, a voz de noivo e a de noiva; porque a terra se tornará em desolação.
7 The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying, 2 Stand in the gate of the Lord's house, and proclaim there this word, and say, Hear the word of the Lord, all ye of Judah, that enter in at these gates to worship the Lord. 3 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place. 4 Trust ye not in lying words, saying, The temple of the Lord, The temple of the Lord, The temple of the Lord, are these. 5 For if ye throughly amend your ways and your doings; if ye throughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbour; 6 If ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt: 7 Then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, for ever and ever. 8 Behold, ye trust in lying words, that cannot profit. 9 Will ye steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods whom ye know not; 10 And come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered to do all these abominations? 11 Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, saith the Lord. 12 But go ye now unto my place which was in Shiloh, where I set my name at the first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of my people Israel. 13 And now, because ye have done all these works, saith the Lord, and I spake unto you, rising up early and speaking, but ye heard not; and I called you, but ye answered not; 14 Therefore will I do unto this house, which is called by my name, wherein ye trust, and unto the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I have done to Shiloh. 15 And I will cast you out of my sight, as I have cast out all your brethren, even the whole seed of Ephraim. 16 Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them, neither make intercession to me: for I will not hear thee. 17 Seest thou not what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem? 18 The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger. 19 Do they provoke me to anger? saith the Lord: do they not provoke themselves to the confusion of their own faces? 20 Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Behold, mine anger and my fury shall be poured out upon this place, upon man, and upon beast, and upon the trees of the field, and upon the fruit of the ground; and it shall burn, and shall not be quenched. 21 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Put your burnt offerings unto your sacrifices, and eat flesh. 22 For I spake not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices: 23 But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you. 24 But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in the counsels and in the imagination of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward. 25 Since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt unto this day I have even sent unto you all my servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them: 26 Yet they hearkened not unto me, nor inclined their ear, but hardened their neck: they did worse than their fathers. 27 Therefore thou shalt speak all these words unto them; but they will not hearken to thee: thou shalt also call unto them; but they will not answer thee. 28 But thou shalt say unto them, This is a nation that obeyeth not the voice of the Lord their God, nor receiveth correction: truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth. 29 Cut off thine hair, O Jerusalem, and cast it away, and take up a lamentation on high places; for the Lord hath rejected and forsaken the generation of his wrath. 30 For the children of Judah have done evil in my sight, saith the Lord: they have set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to pollute it. 31 And they have built the high places of Tophet, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my heart. 32 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that it shall no more be called Tophet, nor the valley of the son of Hinnom, but the valley of slaughter: for they shall bury in Tophet, till there be no place. 33 And the carcases of this people shall be meat for the fowls of the heaven, and for the beasts of the earth; and none shall fray them away. 34 Then will I cause to cease from the cities of Judah, and from the streets of Jerusalem, the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride: for the land shall be desolate.

Ser pecador e permanecer no pecado não é a mesma coisa. Existe uma distância imensurável, à semelhança do abismo a que refere-se as Escrituras Sagradas, ao mencionar o rico e o Lázaro.
Mas não há o que possa impedir a justificação, de acontecer, a saída àqueles que ouvem-No ao Senhor Deus, àqueles que voltam-se à prática de Sua Vontade.
Afinal, existe a herança, dos que pertencem ao SENHOR.
