LEITURA Bíblia Sagrada     Versão - João Ferreira de Almeida - 2ª edição PT-BR King James Version Gênesis 25 Mateus  24 Ester 1 LEITURA  24º DIA  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Gênesis 25 1 Desposou Abraão outra mulher; chamava-se Quetura. 2 Ela lhe deu à luz a Zinrã, Jocsã, Medã, Midiã, Isbaque e Suá. 3 Jocsã gerou a Seba e a Dedã; os filhos de Dedã foram: Assurim, Letusim e Leumim. 4 Os filhos de Midiã foram: Efá, Efer, Enoque, Abida e Elda. Todos estes foram filhos de Quetura. 5 Abraão deu tudo o que possuía a Isaque. 6 Porém, aos filhos das concubinas que tinha, deu ele presentes e, ainda em vida, os separou de seu filho Isaque, enviando-os para a terra oriental. 7 Foram os dias da vida de Abraão cento e setenta e cinco anos. 8 Expirou Abraão; morreu em ditosa velhice, avançado em anos; e foi reunido ao seu povo. 9 Sepultaram-no Isaque e Ismael, seus filhos, na caverna de Macpela, no campo de Efrom, filho de Zoar, o heteu, fronteiro a Manre, 10 o campo que Abraão comprara aos filhos de Hete. Ali foi sepultado Abraão e Sara, sua mulher. 11 Depois da morte de Abraão, Deus abençoou a Isaque, seu filho; Isaque habitava junto a Beer-Laai-Roi. 12 São estas as gerações de Ismael, filho de Abraão, que Agar, egípcia, serva de Sara, lhe deu à luz. 13 E estes, os filhos de Ismael, pelos seus nomes, segundo o seu nascimento: o primogênito de Ismael foi Nebaiote; depois, Quedar, Abdeel, Mibsão, 14 Misma, Dumá, Massá, 15 Hadade, Tema, Jetur, Nafis e Quedemá. 16 São estes os filhos de Ismael, e estes, os seus nomes pelas suas vilas e pelos seus acampamentos: doze príncipes de seus povos. 17 E os anos da vida de Ismael foram cento e trinta e sete; e morreu e foi reunido ao seu povo. 18 Habitaram desde Havilá até Sur, que olha para o Egito, como quem vai para a Assíria. Ele se estabeleceu fronteiro a todos os seus irmãos. 19 São estas as gerações de Isaque, filho de Abraão. Abraão gerou a Isaque; 20 era Isaque de quarenta anos, quando tomou por esposa a Rebeca, filha de Betuel, o arameu de Padã-Arã, e irmã de Labão, o arameu. 21 Isaque orou ao SENHOR por sua mulher, porque ela era estéril; e o SENHOR lhe ouviu as orações, e Rebeca, sua mulher, concebeu. 22 Os filhos lutavam no ventre dela; então, disse: Se é assim, por que vivo eu? E consultou ao SENHOR. 23 Respondeu-lhe o SENHOR: Duas nações há no teu ventre, dois povos, nascidos de ti, se dividirão: um povo será mais forte que o outro, e o mais velho servirá ao mais moço. 24 Cumpridos os dias para que desse à luz, eis que se achavam gêmeos no seu ventre. 25 Saiu o primeiro, ruivo, todo revestido de pêlo; por isso, lhe chamaram Esaú. 26 Depois, nasceu o irmão; segurava com a mão o calcanhar de Esaú; por isso, lhe chamaram Jacó. Era Isaque de sessenta anos, quando Rebeca lhos deu à luz. 27 Cresceram os meninos. Esaú saiu perito caçador, homem do campo; Jacó, porém, homem pacato, habitava em tendas. 28 Isaque amava a Esaú, porque se saboreava de sua caça; Rebeca, porém, amava a Jacó. 29 Tinha Jacó feito um cozinhado, quando, esmorecido, veio do campo Esaú 30 e lhe disse: Peço-te que me deixes comer um pouco desse cozinhado vermelho, pois estou esmorecido. Daí chamar-se Edom. 31 Disse Jacó: Vende-me primeiro o teu direito de primogenitura. 32 Ele respondeu: Estou a ponto de morrer; de que me aproveitará o direito de primogenitura? 33 Então, disse Jacó: Jura-me primeiro. Ele jurou e vendeu o seu direito de primogenitura a Jacó. 34 Deu, pois, Jacó a Esaú pão e o cozinhado de lentilhas; ele comeu e bebeu, levantou-se e saiu. Assim, desprezou Esaú o seu direito de primogenitura. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  25 Then again Abraham took a wife, and her name was Keturah. 2 And she bare him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah. 3 And Jokshan begat Sheba, and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, and Letushim, and Leummim. 4 And the sons of Midian; Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abidah, and Eldaah. All these were the children of Keturah. 5 And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac. 6 But unto the sons of the concubines, which Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts, and sent them away from Isaac his son, while he yet lived, eastward, unto the east country. 7 And these are the days of the years of Abraham's life which he lived, an hundred threescore and fifteen years. 8 Then Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full of years; and was gathered to his people. 9 And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which is before Mamre; 10 The field which Abraham purchased of the sons of Heth: there was Abraham buried, and Sarah his wife. 11 And it came to pass after the death of Abraham, that God blessed his son Isaac; and Isaac dwelt by the well Lahairoi. 12 Now these are the generations of Ishmael, Abraham's son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's handmaid, bare unto Abraham: 13 And these are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebajoth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam, 14 And Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa, 15 Hadar, and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah: 16 These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, by their towns, and by their castles; twelve princes according to their nations. 17 And these are the years of the life of Ishmael, an hundred and thirty and seven years: and he gave up the ghost and died; and was gathered unto his people. 18 And they dwelt from Havilah unto Shur, that is before Egypt, as thou goest toward Assyria: and he died in the presence of all his brethren. 19 And these are the generations of Isaac, Abraham's son: Abraham begat Isaac: 20 And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padanaram, the sister to Laban the Syrian. 21 And Isaac intreated the Lord for his wife, because she was barren: and the Lord was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived. 22 And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it be so, why am I thus? And she went to enquire of the Lord. 23 And the Lord said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger. 24 And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb. 25 And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau. 26 And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau's heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was threescore years old when she bare them. 27 And the boys grew: and Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was a plain man, dwelling in tents. 28 And Isaac loved Esau, because he did eat of his venison: but Rebekah loved Jacob. 29 And Jacob sod pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he was faint: 30 And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom. 31 And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright. 32 And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me? 33 And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob. 34 Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Mateus 24 1 Tendo Jesus saído do templo, ia-se retirando, quando se aproximaram dele os seus discípulos para lhe mostrar as construções do templo. 2 Ele, porém, lhes disse: Não vedes tudo isto? Em verdade vos digo que não ficará aqui pedra sobre pedra que não seja derribada. 3 No monte das Oliveiras, achava-se Jesus assentado, quando se aproximaram dele os discípulos, em particular, e lhe pediram: Dize-nos quando sucederão estas coisas e que sinal haverá da tua vinda e da consumação do século. 4 E ele lhes respondeu: Vede que ninguém vos engane. 5 Porque virão muitos em meu nome, dizendo: Eu sou o Cristo, e enganarão a muitos. 6 E, certamente, ouvireis falar de guerras e rumores de guerras; vede, não vos assusteis, porque é necessário assim acontecer, mas ainda não é o fim. 7 Porquanto se levantará nação contra nação, reino contra reino, e haverá fomes e terremotos em vários lugares; 8 porém tudo isto é o princípio das dores. 9 Então, sereis atribulados, e vos matarão. Sereis odiados de todas as nações, por causa do meu nome. 10 Nesse tempo, muitos hão de se escandalizar, trair e odiar uns aos outros; 11 levantar-se-ão muitos falsos profetas e enganarão a muitos. 12 E, por se multiplicar a iniqüidade, o amor se esfriará de quase todos. 13 Aquele, porém, que perseverar até o fim, esse será salvo. 14 E será pregado este evangelho do reino por todo o mundo, para testemunho a todas as nações. Então, virá o fim. 15 Quando, pois, virdes o abominável da desolação de que falou o profeta Daniel, no lugar santo (quem lê entenda), 16 então, os que estiverem na Judéia fujam para os montes; 17 quem estiver sobre o eirado não desça a tirar de casa alguma coisa; 18 e quem estiver no campo não volte atrás para buscar a sua capa. 19 Ai das que estiverem grávidas e das que amamentarem naqueles dias! 20 Orai para que a vossa fuga não se dê no inverno, nem no sábado; 21 porque nesse tempo haverá grande tribulação, como desde o princípio do mundo até agora não tem havido e nem haverá jamais. 22 Não tivessem aqueles dias sido abreviados, ninguém seria salvo; mas, por causa dos escolhidos, tais dias serão abreviados. 23 Então, se alguém vos disser: Eis aqui o Cristo! Ou: Ei-lo ali! Não acrediteis; 24 porque surgirão falsos cristos e falsos profetas operando grandes sinais e prodígios para enganar, se possível, os próprios eleitos. 25 Vede que vo-lo tenho predito. 26 Portanto, se vos disserem: Eis que ele está no deserto!, não saiais. Ou: Ei-lo no interior da casa!, não acrediteis. 27 Porque, assim como o relâmpago sai do oriente e se mostra até no ocidente, assim há de ser a vinda do Filho do Homem. 28 Onde estiver o cadáver, aí se ajuntarão os abutres. 29 Logo em seguida à tribulação daqueles dias, o sol escurecerá, a lua não dará a sua claridade, as estrelas cairão do firmamento, e os poderes dos céus serão abalados. 30 Então, aparecerá no céu o sinal do Filho do Homem; todos os povos da terra se lamentarão e verão o Filho do Homem vindo sobre as nuvens do céu, com poder e muita glória. 31 E ele enviará os seus anjos, com grande clangor de trombeta, os quais reunirão os seus escolhidos, dos quatro ventos, de uma a outra extremidade dos céus. 32 Aprendei, pois, a parábola da figueira: quando já os seus ramos se renovam e as folhas brotam, sabeis que está próximo o verão. 33 Assim também vós: quando virdes todas estas coisas, sabei que está próximo, às portas. 34 Em verdade vos digo que não passará esta geração sem que tudo isto aconteça. 35 Passará o céu e a terra, porém as minhas palavras não passarão. 36 Mas a respeito daquele dia e hora ninguém sabe, nem os anjos dos céus, nem o Filho, senão o Pai. 37 Pois assim como foi nos dias de Noé, também será a vinda do Filho do Homem. 38 Porquanto, assim como nos dias anteriores ao dilúvio comiam e bebiam, casavam e davam-se em casamento, até ao dia em que Noé entrou na arca, 39 e não o perceberam, senão quando veio o dilúvio e os levou a todos, assim será também a vinda do Filho do Homem. 40 Então, dois estarão no campo, um será tomado, e deixado o outro; 41 duas estarão trabalhando num moinho, uma será tomada, e deixada a outra. 42 Portanto, vigiai, porque não sabeis em que dia vem o vosso Senhor. 43 Mas considerai isto: se o pai de família soubesse a que hora viria o ladrão, vigiaria e não deixaria que fosse arrombada a sua casa. 44 Por isso, ficai também vós apercebidos; porque, à hora em que não cuidais, o Filho do Homem virá. 45 Quem é, pois, o servo fiel e prudente, a quem o senhor confiou os seus conservos para dar-lhes o sustento a seu tempo? 46 Bem-aventurado aquele servo a quem seu senhor, quando vier, achar fazendo assim. 47 Em verdade vos digo que lhe confiará todos os seus bens. 48 Mas, se aquele servo, sendo mau, disser consigo mesmo: Meu senhor demora-se, 49 e passar a espancar os seus companheiros e a comer e beber com ébrios, 50 virá o senhor daquele servo em dia em que não o espera e em hora que não sabe 51 e castigá-lo-á, lançando-lhe a sorte com os hipócritas; ali haverá choro e ranger de dentes. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  24 And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple. 2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. 3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? 4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. 9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. 10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. 11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. 12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. 13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. 15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) 16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: 17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: 18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. 19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! 20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: 21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. 23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. 24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. 25 Behold, I have told you before. 26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. 27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 28 For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together. 29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. 32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: 33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. 34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. 35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. 36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. 37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. 43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. 44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. 45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? 46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. 47 Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods. 48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; 49 And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; 50 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, 51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  Ester 1 1 Nos dias de Assuero, o Assuero que reinou, desde a Índia até à Etiópia, sobre cento e vinte e sete províncias, 2 naqueles dias, assentando-se o rei Assuero no trono do seu reino, que está na cidadela de Susã, 3 no terceiro ano de seu reinado, deu um banquete a todos os seus príncipes e seus servos, no qual se representou o escol da Pérsia e Média, e os nobres e príncipes das províncias estavam perante ele. 4 Então, mostrou as riquezas da glória do seu reino e o esplendor da sua excelente grandeza, por muitos dias, por cento e oitenta dias. 5 Passados esses dias, deu o rei um banquete a todo o povo que se achava na cidadela de Susã, tanto para os maiores como para os menores, por sete dias, no pátio do jardim do palácio real. 6 Havia tecido branco, linho fino e estofas de púrpura atados com cordões de linho e de púrpura a argolas de prata e a colunas de alabastro. A armação dos leitos era de ouro e de prata, sobre um pavimento de pórfiro, de mármore, de alabastro e de pedras preciosas. 7 Dava-se-lhes de beber em vasos de ouro, vasos de várias espécies, e havia muito vinho real, graças à generosidade do rei. 8 Bebiam sem constrangimento, como estava prescrito, pois o rei havia ordenado a todos os oficiais da sua casa que fizessem segundo a vontade de cada um. 9 Também a rainha Vasti deu um banquete às mulheres na casa real do rei Assuero. 10 Ao sétimo dia, estando já o coração do rei alegre do vinho, mandou a Meumã, Bizta, Harbona, Bigtá, Abagta, Zetar e Carcas, os sete eunucos que serviam na presença do rei Assuero, 11 que introduzissem à presença do rei a rainha Vasti, com a coroa real, para mostrar aos povos e aos príncipes a formosura dela, pois era em extremo formosa. 12 Porém a rainha Vasti recusou vir por intermédio dos eunucos, segundo a palavra do rei; pelo que o rei muito se enfureceu e se inflamou de ira. 13 Então, o rei consultou os sábios que entendiam dos tempos (porque assim se tratavam os interesses do rei na presença de todos os que sabiam a lei e o direito; 14 e os mais chegados a ele eram: Carsena, Setar, Admata, Társis, Meres, Marsena e Memucã, os sete príncipes dos persas e dos medos, que se avistavam pessoalmente com o rei e se assentavam como principais no reino) 15 sobre o que se devia fazer, segundo a lei, à rainha Vasti, por não haver ela cumprido o mandado do rei Assuero, por intermédio dos eunucos. 16 Então, disse Memucã na presença do rei e dos príncipes: A rainha Vasti não somente ofendeu ao rei, mas também a todos os príncipes e a todos os povos que há em todas as províncias do rei Assuero. 17 Porque a notícia do que fez a rainha chegará a todas as mulheres, de modo que desprezarão a seu marido, quando ouvirem dizer: Mandou o rei Assuero que introduzissem à sua presença a rainha Vasti, porém ela não foi. 18 Hoje mesmo, as princesas da Pérsia e da Média, ao ouvirem o que fez a rainha, dirão o mesmo a todos os príncipes do rei; e haverá daí muito desprezo e indignação. 19 Se bem parecer ao rei, promulgue de sua parte um edito real, e que se inscreva nas leis dos persas e dos medos e não se revogue, que Vasti não entre jamais na presença do rei Assuero; e o rei dê o reino dela a outra que seja melhor do que ela. 20 Quando for ouvido o mandado, que o rei decretar em todo o seu reino, vasto que é, todas as mulheres darão honra a seu marido, tanto ao mais importante como ao menos importante. 21 O conselho pareceu bem tanto ao rei como aos príncipes; e fez o rei segundo a palavra de Memucã. 22 Então, enviou cartas a todas as províncias do rei, a cada província segundo o seu modo de escrever e a cada povo segundo a sua língua: que cada homem fosse senhor em sua casa, e que se falasse a língua do seu povo. ..... ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦ ◦  1 Now it came to pass in the days of Ahasuerus, (this is Ahasuerus which reigned, from India even unto Ethiopia, over an hundred and seven and twenty provinces:) 2 That in those days, when the king Ahasuerus sat on the throne of his kingdom, which was in Shushan the palace, 3 In the third year of his reign, he made a feast unto all his princes and his servants; the power of Persia and Media, the nobles and princes of the provinces, being before him: 4 When he shewed the riches of his glorious kingdom and the honour of his excellent majesty many days, even an hundred and fourscore days. 5 And when these days were expired, the king made a feast unto all the people that were present in Shushan the palace, both unto great and small, seven days, in the court of the garden of the king's palace; 6 Where were white, green, and blue, hangings, fastened with cords of fine linen and purple to silver rings and pillars of marble: the beds were of gold and silver, upon a pavement of red, and blue, and white, and black, marble. 7 And they gave them drink in vessels of gold, (the vessels being diverse one from another,) and royal wine in abundance, according to the state of the king. 8 And the drinking was according to the law; none did compel: for so the king had appointed to all the officers of his house, that they should do according to every man's pleasure. 9 Also Vashti the queen made a feast for the women in the royal house which belonged to king Ahasuerus. 10 On the seventh day, when the heart of the king was merry with wine, he commanded Mehuman, Biztha, Harbona, Bigtha, and Abagtha, Zethar, and Carcas, the seven chamberlains that served in the presence of Ahasuerus the king, 11 To bring Vashti the queen before the king with the crown royal, to shew the people and the princes her beauty: for she was fair to look on. 12 But the queen Vashti refused to come at the king's commandment by his chamberlains: therefore was the king very wroth, and his anger burned in him. 13 Then the king said to the wise men, which knew the times, (for so was the king's manner toward all that knew law and judgment: 14 And the next unto him was Carshena, Shethar, Admatha, Tarshish, Meres, Marsena, and Memucan, the seven princes of Persia and Media, which saw the king's face, and which sat the first in the kingdom;) 15 What shall we do unto the queen Vashti according to law, because she hath not performed the commandment of the king Ahasuerus by the chamberlains? 16 And Memucan answered before the king and the princes, Vashti the queen hath not done wrong to the king only, but also to all the princes, and to all the people that are in all the provinces of the king Ahasuerus. 17 For this deed of the queen shall come abroad unto all women, so that they shall despise their husbands in their eyes, when it shall be reported, The king Ahasuerus commanded Vashti the queen to be brought in before him, but she came not. 18 Likewise shall the ladies of Persia and Media say this day unto all the king's princes, which have heard of the deed of the queen.
